Mr. Steve Dethlefs joined Hedge Dethlefs PS in 2007, and has since become the firm's principal tax services provider.

Steve's tax career began in 1998 with the big 5 accounting firm, KPMG, one of the best firms in the business. Steve has worked for big firms and small boutique firms, until he decided many years ago that personal service was more important than building a big firm presence. In 2006, Steve launched his solo practice and has since merged with Hedge Dethlefs PS.

Steve holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (1995), and a Juris Doctorate degree from Gonzaga University (1998). 

Steve has extensive experience in complex tax preparation and working with the IRS on taxpayer defense matters (audits, negotiation of debt, wage garnishments, lien removal, etc.)

Steve's goal is to provide one-on-one service that you really only find in small towns. He enjoys getting to know each of his clients and calming their minds with his wealth of tax knowledge.

When he isn't working, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, attending baseball and football games, playing basketball, chess and other board games, fishing, skiing, drinking a glass of wine or two, and road trips.
